This study guide has been prepared to assist those personnel recommended to appear before screening boards, i.e., Promotion, Soldier of the Quarter, etc. Remember as a candidate, you will be competing against the top soldiers of your unit or post. To fully prepare yourself to meet the challenge, each candidate should become thoroughly familiar with the questions and answers contained in this study guide and the subjects and references listed below. This study guide should not be construed to be the only questions a board will ask. It is a guide to make you aware of the type of questions a board may ask and the most common areas of questioning. To completely prepare yourself, further study of the references listed below should be considered.

2. CHAIN OF COMMAND: Unit chain of command board.

3. DRILL AND CEREMONIES: FM 22-5.

4. MAP READING: FM 21-6.

5. FIELD SANITATION: FM 21-10.

6. MILITARY COURTESY AND CUSTOMS: AR 600-200, AR 600-25, AR 672-5-1, AR 672-5-2, AR 840-1.

7. LEADERSHIP: FM 22-100.

8. INDIVIDUAL AND CREW SERVED WEAPONS: FM 23-9, FM 23-35, FM 23-65, FM 23-67.

9. NBC: FM 3-3, FM 3-4, FM 3-5, FM 3-7, FM 3-100.

10. MILITARY JUSTICE: Manual for Courts Martial 1984, AR 27-10, UCMJ.

11. FIRST AID: FM 21-11

12. WEAR AND APPEARANCE OF ARMY UNIFORMS AND INSIGNIA: AR 670-1.

13. THE ARMY NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICER GUIDE: TC 22-6.

14. TRAINING THE FORCE: FM 25-100.

15. BATTLE FOCUS TRAINING: FM 25-101.

16. ANY ADDITTIONAL AREA DESIGNATED.
